OUR
STORY
The Secret Society Of Twisted Storytellers® is a licensed production of The Society for the Re-Institutionalization of Storytelling, a Michigan 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. Founded in 2012 by Executive Director Satori Shakoor, TSSOTS is centered around one of the oldest and most intimate art forms: the oral tradition of Storytelling. Our wildly popular, monthly live events have grown from a 45-seat performance space in downtown Detroit to standing room only audiences on world stages such as The Marygrove Theater and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
OUR
mission
We have a global mission to connect humanity, heal and transform community. Our mission is achieved through live performance art, storytelling workshops, and private story coaching to individuals, organizations, businesses and educational institutions.
OUR
reach
In addition to live monthly events, TSSOTS regularly produces and is featured in performances at cultural and historical venues in the metro-Detroit area including: the Detroit Public Library's main branch and the Detroit Institute of Arts.
TSSOTS proudly maintains a loyal following to its Twisted Storytellers podcast produced by WDET radio, the Twisted Storytellers Youtube Channel and monthly Livestream.
