FAMILY TIES
We invite you to join us for our next powerful live storytelling experience:
FAMILY TIES — happening Friday, April 17, 2026 | 7:30 PM at The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.
The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers® proudly presents FAMILY TIES, an unforgettable evening of real people sharing true stories told live — stories that explore the bonds that shape us, define us, challenge us, and ultimately connect us.
Hosted by the visionary Satori Shakoor, this deeply moving experience dives into the complexities of family — the love, the lessons, the legacy, and everything in between. From generational wisdom to unexpected revelations, these stories reflect the ties that hold us together and the moments that test those connections.
Prepare for a night of raw honesty, heartfelt reflection, laughter, and powerful connection — delivered with the authenticity, depth, and Detroit energy that defines the Twisted stage. These are stories of ancestry and identity, healing and reconciliation, chosen family and bloodlines — all woven together through the art of storytelling.
FAMILY TIES is more than a performance — it is a shared experience that reminds us where we come from, who we are, and how our stories continue to shape the lives of those around us.
Doors open at 6:30 PM.
Come early, settle in, and prepare for an evening that will move you, challenge you, and awaken the warrior within.
Tickets must be purchased online — no in-person sales will be available. All sales are final with no refunds.
